The G10 handle, manufactured in the U.S., withstands rain, snow, mud, and just about anything else you can think of. All handles are designed to be safe, comfortable, and free of pressure points in any weather—and feature a textured grip that provides better traction, especially when wet.

The Woodsman also features a completely redesigned GEN 2 Kydex sheath made of carbon fiber. It offers an improved, rattle-free fit as well as versatile carrying options: horizontal, vertical, MOLLE-compatible, or without a belt at all.

Superior heat treatment is at the heart of a heirloom-quality blade; Dawson draws on decades of experience to develop customized processes that allow for the optimal processing of the selected steel.

This Woodsman model features the time-tested 80CRV2 steel, which Dawson refers to as “Heritage” steel. This steel is a high-carbon alloy that is combined with Dawson’s proprietary heat treatment to deliver exceptional strength, flexibility, edge hardness, and impact resistance.

Hamon Manufacturer’s Description: Inspired by the ancient Japanese art of swordsmithing, the Dawson Hamon (刃文) is the visible temper line of a blade with varying degrees of hardness. It is created through our proprietary combination of modern and traditional heat treatment techniques, in which the cutting edge and the spine are brought to different degrees of hardness through the skillful application of controlled heat.
