It also triggered a design challenge. Diez needed a small, highly packable fixed blade that could ride securely on a wet belt, shrug off constant moisture, and perform when called upon.

Most compact knives force a compromise, leaving you with a tiny handle that causes hand fatigue. The River Rat solves this design flaw by pairing a full-sized G-10 handle with a short, highly maneuverable blade. Originally handcrafted in small custom batches, demand quickly outpaced what Diez could build alone.
